I
like Sussex burr - usually they put me down as a loveable
cockney rogue. Burr sounds quite Thomas Hardy. Describing our
marriage or matrimony in this case as unlikely is
slightly hurtful and unnecessary. Going on from that to the square
pegs in round holes motif appears almost Freudian but probably
has more to do with a bit of thoughtless editing.
...spangly strumming and patchwork dream vocals floating heartbroken
downstream... very nice. But I can't help thinking the reviewer should have
spent
less
time writing poetry and more researching the article -
You Tore Me Down is a Flamin' Groovies song, Yo La Tengo merely covered it, same
as us. Due to this glaring error I can only give this review three stars.
We would have liked to have developed the witticisms and motifs explored
on tour first album but we'd already done that on the first album. It doesn't
take much time to walk around a witticism. We felt like singing a few tunes.
Hope this review of the review makes up for any shortcomings.
