Just got back from a few days in Norwich making films with Karen Hibberd. While I was there we went up to Grimsby for the Grimsby 2001 Film Festival. Grimsby lives up to its name but the film festival was good. We had our one minute film Abstract #1 in the competition there. I'm afraid it didn't win though I thought it was by far and away the best entry - I couldn't help myself. Now I'm sure you all want to see it so I'm going to start a Studio 3 page with lots of stills from the films, photos of work in progress, news of forthcoming screenings, that kind of thing. We've just had a film installation accepted for the Norwich Open Exhibition.

| Work on the book is progressing very
slowly - I think I just have to keep walking and not look up or I'll never
get to the end. Have you noticed how, if you look at something in the
distance that you're walking towards, it never seems to get any closer,
but if you keep your head down and look up a little while later - suddenly
you're nearly there.
This Thursday I'm setting off for Hull. On Thursday night I'm Djing at Amy Rigby's show at the Bull. On Friday and Saturday I'm playing there. On Saturday afternoon I'm going to be "in conversation" with Andy Richardson, the tireless Hull promoter. We'll be doing that in the EICH Gallery which is managed/curated/run (whatever the terminology is) by my dear friend and ex-art college tuor Kathie Jenkins. If anyone comes along they might find out something that they didn't know about me. Not that I'm going to announce that I'm gay or that I've had a hair weave or something, because I'm not and I haven't. There'll be a raffle though - a chance to win some own brand groceries in an attempt to off-set the cost of free admission.

| The latest hot news off the bench is
that we're doing a one-off support to Joe Strummer at the Concorde in
Brighton on November 15th. We're doing it out of the kindness
of our hearts for no money whatsoever, the privilage of getting in free
and mingling with the backstage illuminati. Some of the more retarded
members of the Southern Domestic group are threatening to take their
autograph books.
