Whole
Wide World especially gets to appear on loads of compilation albums.
Most of them are instantly forgetable like Twenty Romantic Punk
Love Songs which I'm afraid really does exists, or The Best
Punk Album In The World Ever Volume Two. This one really exists
too - I got a fat royalty cheque after it came out. Six months later
I got another royalty statement with a monolithic total but no cheque
enclosed. When I rang the accounting department they explained that
the monolithic figure was in fact a minus amount because nobody
bought the massive number of copies of The
Best Punk Album In The World Ever Volume Two that
were sent out to the shops,. They'd all been returned. I'm just listing the ones I know anything about - some of them passed me by completely because the record company (usually Stiff) didn't bother sending me copies even though I asked nicely. |
